해야만 했어야 하는 일에 대한 표현으로 be supposed to + verb 를 사용한다.
"하기로 되어 있었다." 또는 "해야한다"로 해석될 수 있다.
Ex)
What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at school. (You should be at school.)
I'm not supposed to be here. Don't tell anyone. (I shouldn't be here.)
We were supposed to meet at seven. But I had a problem in my car and I couldn't.
