1. Have to - 단순 의무

  • I have to get up early every day.
  • She has to speak English at work.
  • We have to go into work early tomorrow.

1-1 부정일 경우: don't have to ~하지 않아도 된다.

  • You don't have to work on Sunday.
  • You don't have to forget what I'm saying. It's important.
  • You don't have to be here before ten.
  • You don't have to finish it today.

  • You should go to the dentist.
  • You sould eat more fruits and vegetables.
  • You should go to bed because you look tired.
  • You should go to bed earlier.

  • You shouldn't swim during the storm.
  • You shouldn't drive in ther park.
  • You shouldn't watch TV all day.
  • You shouldn't stand on the table.

3. Be supposed to / not be supposed to - 기준에 의한 책임

: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven...

: First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth...

첫째/하나/첫번째 등으로 번역이 된다. ex) First car that I bought is a Ferrari SUV.

  • 1/2 : One half
  • 1/3 : One third
  • 1/4 : One Forth
  • 1/5 : One Fifth

  • 2/3 : Two thirds
  • 3/4 : Three fourths
  • 4/5 : Four Fifths
  • 5/6 : Five sixths

  = Three and three fourths

형용사를 강조할 때 "so + adjective"를 사용하는데, 이를 such a + adjective + noun로 바꿔서 표현할 수 있다.

Ex)

He is so happy. => He is such a happy person.

Chinese is so difficult to learn. => Chinese is such a difficult language to learn.

Ex)

Would you mind helping me?

No, I don't mind. -

Yes, I mind.
